Year 9 Options Process
During the spring term of year 9 the students make their KS4 option choices for years 10 and 11. We offer a range of option choices (e.g. art, textiles, photography, cooking, drama, sport, animal care & bushcraft and Skillway for woodwork and metalwork. Option choices may be subject to a minimum number of students for them to be viable.
At KHS we have a supported, multiphase process in place to ensure that the students and their parents/carers make informed choices.
The process includes sessions exploring each option, feedback from current KS4 students, visits (when possible) to any offsite options, individual pupil meetings, a parents’ information evening and finally a parental meeting with Head to finalise option choices.
